Police search Fife woodland for missing Allan Bryant

Police officers are searching woodland in North East Fife as part of the latest attempts to trace Allan Bryant Jr.

Officers and specialist sniffer dogs have gathered near the Secret Bunker site, near Anstruther, after new information was passed to the family of the missing Glenrothes man.

Speaking to The Courier, Allan Jr’s father, Allan, said: “I’m not building my hopes up as we’ve been here before.

“This information came to us via the Facebook page we set up to find Allan.

“We were going to search the area ourselves at weekend but it’s very dense woodland and obviously the police dogs are more suited to it than we are.”

Allan Bryant Snr is still looking for his son although he insists that Police Scotland has not gathered all the CCTV from around Styx nightclub where his son went missing over 2 years ago.

Allan Jr was 23 when he disappeared after a night out with friends on November 3 2013.

He had been at Styx Nightclub on Caskieberran Road, with CCTV footage showing him leaving the venue in the early hours of the morning.

High-profile appeals have been made by both his family and the police, while searches have been conducted throughout the town.

There is still no trace of Allan Jr, who would now be 25.

Asked how he and his family had been coping since this new information came to light, Mr Bryant added: “It’s been tough, but now we’ll just have to sit and wait and see what comes of it.

“The fact that the police are searching is a positive thing as we’re just focused on keeping the search going for Allan.”
