Motorists are being warned of road closures in St Andrews for Scottish Water to carry out vital work.
During the early stages of the project the team encountered a number of unexpected ground conditions which has delayed progress. As a result, work in this section continued from January 6.
However, the company says these delays will not have a significant impact on the overall programme.
Scottish Water’s contractors, George Leslie Ltd, are approaching the section of work required in Grannie Clark’s Wynd and the Links.
Scottish Water project manager Andy Ducat said: “These two sections of work will require road closures to be put in place.
“The Grannie Clark’s Wynd road closure will affect the whole of the Wynd from the A91 to the Links.
“No traffic flow will be permitted at any time along this section of road. This road closure will take place from January 20 to March 31.
“The Links road closure will be from Grannie Clark’s Wynd to the junction with Gibson Place. During the closure, no traffic will be permitted along this section of road.
“Two-way traffic flow will be permitted from Golf Place, down the Links to Grannie Clark’s Wynd and parking restrictions will be in place on this section of the Links.
“This road closure will take place from January 27 to April 28.
“Both these closures are required to allow us to construct new sewers and associated manholes along both streets.
“Local people should note that for both closures full signage will be in place throughout to provide information of the restrictions.
“Working hours during this time will be Monday to Saturday, 7.30am to 6pm.”
