Adult learners in Fife can count on improving their skills following a visit by European maths experts.
Specialists from the UK, Denmark, Finland and the Netherlands are in the region this week as part of a study into the best way to teach maths in vocational education.
They are being hosted by Fife’s Adult Basic Education (ABE) Service while they produce resources to use in class and training rooms.
They are also developing a series of training sessions for maths teachers, lecturers, trainers and tutors from across Europe.
Jill Little, from the ABE Service, said she was proud to welcome European colleagues to Fife.
“Although we’ve got a lot of work to fit in to the next few days, we’re also giving the group a taste of what Fife has to offer by holding our meetings in two of Dunfermline’s most historic buildings: Carnegie Library and Abbot House,” she said.
The ABE Service provides free tuition for adults who want to improve their literacy or numeracy skills.
