Residents’ fears of more flooding today in Comrie appear to be abating as emergency services are put on standby.
Despite yet more heavy rain hitting the Strathearn village this morning, there has been no repeat of the devastating flooding which hit on Monday when the Water of Ruchill burst its banks.
A spokesman for Tayside Fire and Rescue today told The Courier that two appliances were in Comrie, while an incident room had been set up in Dundee, where they were liaising with Tayside Police.
He added there were no reports of flooding but were on standby should it happen.
Perth and Kinross Council has issued 2,000 extra sandbags to Comrie Fire Station and is holding an emergency meeting today when it is expected to issue details of flood mitigation solutions to protect the village.For more details of that meeting, see Friday’s Courier
