Daughter pays tribute at Perth funeral of Tunisia terror attack victims

The daughter of a couple killed in the Tunisian beach terror attack paid tribute to them today at their funeral in Perth.

Billy and Lisa Graham, from Bankfoot, were among 38 people killed by a gunman in the holiday resort of Sousse on Friday June 26. Thirty of the victims were British.Holly Graham broke down in tears as she described her “hero” dad and said she hoped that she could be “half the woman mum was”.The Grahams were visiting the resort to celebrate Mrs Graham’s 50th birthday.

Family and friends said their final farewells at the service at Perth Crematorium.

The Rev Sydney Graham delivered a speech of reflection celebrating the couple’s lives.

He said: “Billy and Lisa had a lovely relationship and life together at Bankfoot with their much loved daughter Holly and Bailey Boy, the mini longhaired Daschund who earned a special place in their family life.

“They created and enjoyed a beautiful home in Bankfoot and worked hard in our community.”

He added: “Billy and Lisa loved the special time of their holidays and breaks together in the sun … We are absolutely devastated and it is outrageous what happened to them as they enjoyed a well-earned rest in the sun at a favourite place.

“But love is eternal and stronger than death and no irrational act of man’s inhumanity to man can ever defeat the power of love … Let there be no doubt the light of the world shines on in the darkness.

“Darkness has never succeeded in snuffing it and will never overcome it.”
