An impressive standing stone has been given pride of place at a Perthshire town gateway. The monolith at Coupar Angus replaces the wicker golfer which was put in place to celebrate last year’s Ryder Cup. It was donated to the town by Moray-based firm Tennants Elgin following an appeal by the town’s Pride of Place community group. The stone was put in place by local builder Colin Meldrum. A PoP spokeswoman said she was delighted to have the marker in place on Perth Road.
