Mel C has pledged to take part in the Cycletta series, which will take place in Scone in September.
A former Spice Girl could be on her way to Perth to take part in a summer cycling event.
“Sporty Spice”, otherwise known as Melanie C, has pledged to take part in the Cycletta series, the first of which will be at Scone Palace in September.
The pop star, whose real name is Melanie Chisholm, has urged other women to take part in the women-only event run by Human Race.
Melanie C explained why she was so keen to take part in the event herself and to encourage other women to follow her example.
“Women contribute so much to the world of sport and these events offer a chance for all women to get involved, regardless of their age or ability,” she said.
“Like so many others, I have been really inspired by how well our GB ladies did at the Olympics. Cycletta’s Victoria Pendleton was a real icon of London 2012.
“I am keen to take part in one of the Cycletta events this year and look forward to seeing lots of ladies get on their bike and do the same.”
