Dundee man Charles Aimer dies after accident with lorry on A90 near Errol

A cyclist who died after an accident on Sunday afternoon near Errol has today been named by police.
Dundee man Charles Aimer, who was 42, was cycling on the westbound carriageway of the A90 near to Grange when he was involved in a collision with an articulated lorry at around 1.30pm.
He was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital, but sadly died a short time later. The lorry driver was uninjured.
A police spokesman said: “Mr Aimer’s family are understandably upset by their sudden loss and have said that he will be greatly missed. They do not wish to make any further comments and have requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.”
Mr Aimer was riding a blue bike, and the lorry involved in the tragedy was white and orange.
The spokesman added: “Enquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are ongoing and Tayside Police would appeal for anyone who may have information that could assist officers with their enquiries to contact Tayside Police on 101.”
As with all sudden deaths, a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
