‘A lot going for it’ Crieff folk think it’s time for action

Residents in Crieff have been invited to attend a meeting to discuss the possibility of setting up a development trust to regenerate the town.
The meeting is being organised by the Crieff Regeneration Action Group (CRAG), a working group of community residents set up by the Crieff and Upper Strathearn Partnership (CUSP).
CRAG member Ailsa Campbell said, “The town of Crieff has a lot going for it. It has a great range of independent shops, it is surrounded by some of the most amazing countryside in Scotland and now it is county seat of the new Earl and Countess of Strathearn.
“However, no one can deny Crieff is also in need of some attention.”
Colleague Patrick Andrews added, “There are over 150 communities in Scotland that have organised themselves, applied for grants and made major improvements to their community. Crieff can do the same.”
Rory Dutton from Development Trusts Association Scotland (DTAS) will speak at the meeting on what a development trust is and the projects they can take on.
Representatives from other development trusts will also be on hand at the meeting on June 21 at 7.30pm in the Crieff Hydro Hotel’s drawing room.
