Vision for T in the Park unveiled to communities

FESTIVAL BOSSES have unveiled their vision for T in the Park at Strathallan to elected members.

The event’s CEO Geoff Ellis met councillors to outline what he believes will be a comprehensive community consultation.

He said he believed that despite reservations over the move, the festival could build upon 18 years of positive relationships at Kinross to settle into its new home.

Concerns have seen DF Concerts committed to a protracted planning process during which it will have to liaise extensively with the Strathallan community.

Public meetings will now take place at Auchterarder Community Church Centre on Wednesday November 19 and at Strathearn Community Campus, Crieff, on Thursday November 20, between 4pm and 8pm each day.

Leaflets will be delivered to more than 8,000 homes in the area from November 10 to advertise the meetings.

Representatives from 10 community councils have also been invited to a meeting with representatives from DFC on November 12.

A spokesperson for DF Concerts said-: “The pre-planning process for T in the Park 2015 is now well under way and we’ve had more one-on-one meetings this week with locals as well as a very positive and productive meeting with elected members.

“We discussed the key dates going forward and the details of our ongoing community engagement plans.

“Our intention is to build upon the positive relationships we’ve enjoyed for 18 years in Kinross, which were built through transparent, two-way dialogue.

“We remain committed to ensuring that the local community enjoys huge benefits from the staging of the festival culturally, socially and economically.”
