UPDATE: Perth Racecourse’s Tuesday and Wednesday meeting abandoned due to rain
ByCraig Smith
Both Tuesday and Wednesday evening’s planned horse racing meetings at Perth have been postponed due to a waterlogged course.
The first day of Perth’s third July fixture failed to pass a 9.30am inspection after 38mm of rain fell in 48 hours.
With more rain forecast, the Scone Palace track was left with no alternative but to abandon Tuesday evening’s seven race card.
And just hours later after a further early afternoon inspection, clerk of the course Harriet Graham confirmed that Wednesday’s card has similarly been shelved due to the ground being completely saturated.
