Lasting legacy as thanks from Perth family to hospital ward

The family of a Perth woman has been fundraising to improve the comfort of patients in a ward at Ninewells Hospital.
Moira Gardiner died last year and as a lasting legacy her husband Jim Gardiner, of Coldstream Avenue, and daughters Beverley Davidson and Kimberley Gardiner embarked on fundraising.
“My mum, unfortunately, passed away last September after a long and traumatic struggle with breast cancer. During this time she was in and out of ward 32 many times, including the side rooms looking into the garden,” Beverley said.
“My mum was very keen on supporting the ward to make it more appealing, perhaps doing the garden, cheering things up.”
Money raised from Mrs Gardiner’s funeral was used to provide some treats and solar lights for the garden.
“My family also spent a day tidying the garden and making it look better,” Beverley added.
Kimberley continued fundraising and the family presented more treats to the Dundee hospital, taking their financial assistance to ward 32 to more than £2,000.
