Perth is to host a celebration of all things chocolate when it stages Scotland’s first outdoor festival devoted to the delights of the cocoa bean.
Businesses are being encouraged to get behind the venture aimed at drawing in droves of sweet-toothed visitors to the Fair City. Provost Liz Grant is an enthusiastic ambassador for the festival scheduled for November 22-24.
“This promises to be a fabulous event with something for anyone who loves chocolate,” she said.
“It will add sparkle to the city’s celebrations as we all prepare for Christmas.”
Speciality businesses will offer a range of chocolate gifts, such as candles or soaps, while others will run interactive workshops, give talks and live demonstrations in chocolateering.
It goes without saying chocolate tastings will also be an integral feature of the weekend.
Any local businesses not yet involved and which believe they have something to offer should contact Leigh Brown, city centre manager on 01738 475000.
More information on the festival will be made available on the council’s website as the arrangements are finalised.
