Music fans from around the world are preparing to descend upon Perthshire for one of the biggest events on the festival calendar.

Thousands flock to Perthshire Amber each year to see celebrated singer-songwriter Dougie MacLean perform alongside a host of top names.

The line-up this year includes an exciting mix of well-loved artists and vibrant young musicians, groups and creative collaborations taking to the stage at venues across the region from October 25 to November 3.

With some concerts already sold out and ticket sales up 15% on last year, organisers are already hoping 2013 will be the biggest and best festival to date.

“When we started Perthshire Amber it was just a weekend of concerts in Pitlochry, but we now have 10 days of concerts, talks, walks, workshops, pub sessions and fantastic music sounding out across much of Perthshire,” said festival founder and musical director MacLean.

“I couldn’t be more pleased to have wonderfully gifted musicians such as Karine Polwart , Charlie McKerron, Tim Edey and Karen Matheson joining us this year.

“And I’m delighted that fantastic young talent such as Ross Ainslie and Jarlath Henderson, Anderson McGinty Webster Ward and Fisher and the Hazey Janes are all headlining concerts during the festival.

“We also have great international talent with Buddy MacDonald returning from Cape Breton, Canada, and SeaStar from the USA joining the festival.”

For MacLean fans, the concert not to miss this year will be the premiere Perthshire Amber performance of the MacLean Project at Perth Concert Hall on November 1.
