Police say they have eliminated two lorry drivers from their investigation into the murder of pensioner Jenny Methven.
The drivers of two lorries were captured on CCTV images as they passed through the Strathearn area on the day 80-year-old Mrs Methven was murdered.
One of the men told police he had been pulled over due to people recognising him from CCTV images released earlier this week.
Mrs Methven’s body was found by her son, David, in their cottage around 5.15pm on February 20.
Following the release of the CCTV images, the two lorry drivers came forward. Tayside Police confirmed both have now been excluded from the investigation.
One was driving an articulated lorry with a white cab and red side curtain travelling west towards Dunning.
The other was at the wheel of a red or pink Scania cab with log trailer coming from Bridge of Earn towards Forgandenny.
Three other vehicles and their drivers have not as yet been identified.
They are a small silver car heading west towards Dunning, a black vehicle travelling behind a tractor and trailer heading towards Forteviot from Bridge of Earn that will have passed a bus travelling in the opposite direction, and a silver hatchback car, which travelled behind a bus from the Forgandenny/Forteviot direction to Bridge of Earn.
Tayside Police has a phone number dedicated to any enquiries that could assist the murder enquiry. It is 01738 892925 and will direct callers straight to the enquiry team during normal office hours and to the force communications centre at other times.
People can also still contact the single non-emergency number 0300 111 2222, or speak to any officer.
Information can be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is offering a £10,000 reward.
