A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a suspension leaf spring which came through the windscreen of the car she was in.
The incident happened on the A90 southbound, near Brechin and the B966 junction, at around 10.50am on Sunday.
She was a passenger in a silver Volkswagen Amarok when the car part came through the window and struck her.
The 47-year-old was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee while the road was closed until 12.25pm.
Constable Derek Miller said: “The woman sustained serious injuries as a result of this incident.
“I am appealing for anyone who may have been driving in the area or may have dashcam footage that could assist with our investigation to contact police.”
