The body of a woman found on a beach has been identified.
The woman was found on Inverkip beach in Inverclyde on the morning of August 10.
A medium-sized brown August Pfueller teddy bear was found alongside her, which was dressed in a grey T-shirt with the words “My Buddy” on it.
Police had appealed for information about the woman, and on Thursday she was identified and her family were informed.
Inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of death, but it is not being treated as suspicious.
Detective Inspector David Wagstaff said: “Thanks to the tremendous response from the public, Police Scotland have now identified the woman and notified her family.
“We would like to pass on our appreciation to the public for their assistance in this investigation regarding this tragic death.”
