Music fans across Scotland are being sent on a giant treasure hunt in a bid to win tickets for this year’s giant anniversary T in the Park festival.
Organisers came up with the idea in a bid to mark 20 successful years of the event, now recognised as one of Europe’s biggest and best.
Weekend camping tickets have been hidden in secret locations in five towns and cities including Kinross and Dunfermline for music fans to find by solving a series of cryptic clues on Twitter.
The game is expected to prompt a chase as the first person to solve the puzzle and locate the “T Lady” in person will win the prize.
The T in the Park Treasure hunt begins in Greenock on Thursday evening, with clues released online and found by following the hashtag #TITPtreasure.
Fans need to sign up to the Treasure Hunt by visiting www.tinthepark.com.
Festival director Geoff Ellis said: “It’s only a matter of days now before T in the Park opens its gates to more than 250,000 people over the course of the weekend.
“To celebrate the fact that the event turns 20 this year, we wanted to do something a bit special.
“The five treasure hunts taking place are a great opportunity to have a laugh and possibly to win tickets to the festival.
“Just remember that you need to register beforehand and that you need to actually take part on the ground. Where’s the fun if you’re just stuck behind your computer screen?”
The treasure hunts will be taking place in Greenock from 5pm on Thursday and then in Paisley on Firday, again from 5pm.
Saturday sees two treasure hunts firstly in Dunfermline from 10am and then in Glasgow from 2pm before the final chance to win tickets takes place in Kinross on Sunday from 2pm.
T in the Park will bring as many as 85,000 revellers a day to Balado near Kinross between July 12 and 14.
Headline acts include Mumford & Sons, Rihanna, The View, Deacon Blue, Travis, Twin Atlantic, Emeli Sande and the Fratellis.
And while organisers have admitted a combination of the economy and last year’s bad weather has hit ticket sales, they remain confident the 2013 event will be a sell-out.
