Wow!

Wow!

Curling in Las Vegas…who would ever have thought that! I bet my dad and all the players of his generation are very jealous!

It’s amazing here. I’d never visited the place before so I didn’t have a clue what to expect, and for those of you who haven’t visited it, it’s quite hard to actually describe. The best word is probably “wow”!

We’re here for the Continental Cup, which is North America (Canada and America) against the Rest of the World.

This is perfect prep for our last event before Sochi.

We’ve just won a European Curling Champions Tour event in Switzerland so it’s been great to have a few days chilling. There’s been plenty of shopping and sight-seeing.

As soon as we get back to Britain we’ll be in full-on Olympic mode – getting kit, practicing, speaking to the media and then flying out to Russia.

So an event like this – competitive but relaxed as well – couldn’t have come at a better time.

We’ll have top class competition, excellent ice, and we’re playing in front of crowds of 5,000 for each draw!

I must admit though, it’s weird to think that we’re in the same team as the Swedish girls but in 20-something days we’ll be up against them in the Olympics.

And it’s probably no bad thing that the competition has started because I’m trying to stay away from the betting tables so I don’t blow all my prize money from Bern!
