Coming up in Tuesday’s Courier velfies

Coming up in Tuesday’s Courier velfies

Voulez-vous visiter Dundee?

Si senor.

Danke schoen.

These are the kind of exchanges that will indubitably be taking place all over the continent (although chiefly in France, Spain and Germany) thanks to a new initiative in the City of Discovery.

Youngsters have been putting together velfies (that’s video selfies to you and I) promoting all the great attractions Dundee has to offer. From RRS Discovery to the Verdant Works, all are filmed along with commentary in a range of European languages.

If that doesn’t get them flocking to Dundee, nothing will. Find out more in your cosmopolitan, well-travelled and distinctly cultured Courier.

Meanwhile, thousands of people spent Monday packing up their plus-fours, tank-tops and bunnets after the Ryder Cup.

On Tuesday, thousands of people will spend their time unpacking their plus-fours, tank-tops and bunnets ahead of the Dunhill.

In the Courier we use the classic journalistic trait of looking both back and forward (at the Ryder Cup and the Dunhill respectively). Ace.

What do you think of wind turbines?

It isn’t half a hot topic.

And the author of the Outlander series is having her say on it. Tss (the sound of touching something hot, for the avoidance of doubt). She is not happy about proposals to site a wind farm near Loch Rannoch. Not at all happy in fact.

Scenes for the television adaption of her novels were filmed at the site and she is quite simply horrified by the plans. It would be a “tragedy”, she says. And that, I would submit, is strong stuff.

Ahh Lorraine. Lovely, lovely Lorraine.

Dundee’s own morning TV star is celebrating THIRTY years on our screens. Remarkable stuff.

Included is an appearance on Coronation Street. What, I ask, better way to celebrate (that’s a rhetorical question by the way, absolutely no responses please)?

We asked 100 people what they thought about Tuesdays (we didn’t) and they said they were rubbish (that’s a lie). But this Tuesday won’t be rubbish (true). Far from it. For Courier readers it will be among the best Tuesdays EVER. Please do be sure to snap up your copy. Failing that, why not try our digital edition?
