Coming up in Thursday’s Courier the calm after the storm and mild innuendo

Mopping up.

On Tuesday there was a lot of very heavy rain. On Wednesday it was lovely.

The good weather was something of a blessing for those blighted by the appalling conditions the previous day as it gave them something of an opportunity to clean up.

We report on the calm after the storm.

In happier news we report on the pensioners who have been Munro bagging. And Corbett bagging, And Graham bagging.

They have conquered more than 700 of them.

Yes, you read that right. More than 700. Not bad specially since the lady is scared of cows, so many circuitous routes had to be taken.

Wonderful stuff.

Wednesday night brought with it one of the most eagerly anticipated televisual events of the year.

That’s right, yet another re-run of The Simpsons was on.

But not only that, tucked away among the televisual treats was none other that the Great British Bake Off final.

The innuendo-ometer went into overdrive as soggy bottoms were decried and the winner crowned.

We reflect on all the “action”.

Meanwhile, Oor Wullie is helping to teach the Scots language. Which is jolly braw of him.

Read a’ aboot it in The Courier.

It should be a sensational read for newspaper fans. Be sure to pick up your copy. Failing that, why not try our digital edition?
