Coming up in Monday’s Courier Share the excitement

Take a look around you at the world we have come to know.

Is it really much more than a complex treadmill, upon which we toil, hamster-like, until our brief time on this planet is snuffed out often in the cruellest and most painful of circumstances?

Stop. Come back.

Sorry about that somewhat downbeat start, but bear with me.

I was merely going to say that such feelings may be commonplace, particularly on a dreich Monday morning.

But not, I repeat NOT, in Coming Up Corner.

That’s because we are excited.

It is a somewhat perpetual state.

But we are particularly excited about Monday’s Courier, for the very simple reason it is a particularly fruity read.

Allow me to explain viz:

We have the quite terrific tale about the magical Meccano models that have gone under the hammer (not literally. That would have been ghastly).

A real labour of love, it is clear the creator was nuts (and indeed bolts) about the traditional toy.

But how much did said models fetch?

Find out in Monday’s riveting (ha!) Courier.

In other news, Sunday saw the grand final (semi in one case) of Strictly Come Sports X-Factor Personality of the Year.

What a night it was too.

All the fall-out in Monday’s Courier.

People just love the snow. But how were conditions on the slopes over the weekend? We investigate.

Meanwhile, if there is one great thing about this time of year it is the ability to silence your cacophonous kids by bellowing: “RIGHT, that’s you on Santa’s bad list.”

But what’s this?

Some do-gooding psychology boffins have claimed parents who make such warnings may be doing lasting damage to their darling offspring.

Pah.

For more on every last one of these stories along with dozens of others guaranteed to delight, entertain, enthrall and educate please do be sure to pick up Monday’s Courier. Failing that, why not try our digital edition?
