Coming up in Friday’s Courier Nifty Shades of Auchenblae

Coming up in Friday’s Courier Nifty Shades of Auchenblae

Double yellow lines on genteel roads are so bally gaudy.

So why the devil not replace them with some softer, pastel shades?

It’s an undeniably fruity scheme and no mistake.

The good people of Auchenblae rarely breach the rules, yet officials fear there is the need for some parking restrictions in the locality.

But bright and brash double yellow lines? Surely a step too far.

So are lighter pastel shades the answer?

We investigate.

Meanwhile, we have all the latest on the bungling thief who thought he would climb on to the roof of a post office before severing the alarm with a cordless power tool. Thus leaving him free to nip down and fill his swag bag in peace.

And he might just have got away with it too were it not for those pesky kids,

Or more accurately the fact he cut through the cable to a satellite dish instead. Which in no way disarms the alarm system. D’oh.

We also catch up with the Angus singer set to perform at the Grand Ole Opry.

To say it is the pinnacle of her career would be akin to saying The Courier is not the finest newspaper in the world. And by that I mean it would be utterly farcical (obvs).

Cup final fever is grasping the tangerine half of Dundee in its sweaty little grip.

We have fulsome reports, including details of the plans to raise awareness of the Frank’s Law campaign.

There are certain times of the day when one sits down, emits a weary sigh and exclaims: “There is only one thing that will pick up my flagging spirits right now. One thing, and one thing alone. And that one thing is a restorative cup of lovely hot tea, complete with a lovely dash of milk. Ideally accompanied by a lovely biscuit or other small yet lovely and tasty sweet treat.”

We’ve all said it. I know I have.

But how would you fancy shelling out a whopping TEN POUNDS for a cuppa?

You might have to if you visit one Scottish hotel…

Full story of a very special brew in Friday’s Courier.

* The end of the working week is so close you can almost smell it (or would be able to were it not a day of the week and, in itself, odourless). That is an enticing prospect BUT and as you can see it is a big but before celebrating the weekend why not enjoy Friday’s absolutely wonderful Courier? Failing that I very much hope I can convince you to try our digital edition.
