Coming up in Friday’s Courier Ecce Romani

The Romans are coming.

Some considerable time (circa two millennia in fact) after their last invasion, the Roman Empire is heading back.

That may sound alarming, but actually it is something to relish. Dundee is going to host a lovely exhibition of fascinating stuff from that most fascinating of eras, you see.

So next time somebody asks: “What have the Romans ever done for us?” you can, quick as a flash, respond: “Left us some jolly nice artefacts which you can see in the City of Discovery”. Which may well make you feel rather smug.

In other, more modern day, news Friday’s working week-ending Courier features details of the line-up for this year’s Perth Festival of the Arts. I can’t say too much at this stage but suffice to say there is to be a Jool (or rather Jools) in the crown…

Tax on computer games has often been a taxing issue. But it will tax people no more. Find out why in The Courier.

It doesn’t matter how many times we write about it, this independence referendum business just isn’t going away. Our political editor Kieran Andrews has all the latest as both sides are accused of talking a right load of old cobblers. Or some such.

We also have details of a bow wow pow wow (and I must doff my cap to sub-editor Jim Smith for that one) as Kenny MacAskill hosts a dogs summit (for people but about pooches, for the avoidance of doubt).

Friday can be even more fantastic if you spend it (or at least a portion of it) in the company of The Courier. Please do be sure to snap up your copy. Failing that, why not try our digital edition?
