Now that their first SPL win is in the bag, Dundee are turning their attention to securing their first at Dens Park.
New striker Colin Nish believes the Dark Blues can use their against-the-odds away victory at Tynecastle as a springboard for sustained home success, starting when Motherwell come to town on Saturday.
He said: ”There would be no better time for us to get our first home win than this weekend. If you’re going to do it then you may as well do it against the current league leaders.
”We want to make Dens Park a fortress as much as possible. It’s got to be one where other teams don’t enjoy coming to.
”Hopefully that starts this Saturday and it’s something we can then carry on into the rest of the season. Winning your home games is what it’s all about to try and get as many points on the board as possible.
”Motherwell will come here full of confidence but we have to believe 100% in ourselves and if we do that we’ll give ourselves a chance.”
According to the former Hibs and Kilmarnock man, the Hearts result was the perfect boost for team morale.
Nish said: ”The win at Tynecastle has given the lads that extra bit of belief. You can see that everyone in training is looking really confident so it’s amazing what one victory can do for you.
”Everyone is sharp and the boys are looking for the ball so we have to make sure we carry that into Saturday’s game. We said all along that once we get our first win then we can go on and get more which will hopefully be the case.”
