Raith Rovers midfielder Iain Davidson is facing a race against time to be fit for the weekend clash with Falkirk.
Davidson picked up a knee injury in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Morton and, although it is not as serious as some may have originally thought, the 27-year-old may be a doubt for the Bairns’ visit this weekend.
“He’s not trained yet but we’re hoping he’s going to train tonight and we’ll see how he gets on,” Rovers boss John McGlynn confirmed yesterday.
One player definitely out of tomorrow’s game will be striker Gary Wales, who recently extended his short-term deal until May.
Wales hasn’t featured since returning to Stark’s Park in November and is still struggling with injury, although he has been training and is nearing a return to full fitness.
“He’s signed until the end of the season and he’s come in and given the place a bit of extra enthusiasm,” McGlynn added.
McGlynn also dismissed reports that Inverness Caledonian Thistle are interested in striker Gregory Tade as “speculation,” confirming that no approach has been made.GonzalezMeanwhile, former Rovers goalkeeper Ramiro Gonzalez is keen on a return to Scotland.
Gonzalez played more than 30 games during a 31/2-year stint in Scotland, also playing for Airdrie and Ross County.
Gonzalez said, “I was playing until two weeks ago in Cyprus, but I had to leave my club as they were not paying me and I have had the same problems with other teams there as well.”
