Raith boss John McGlynn is sweating over the fitness of four key players ahead of tomorrow’s first division clash with Stirling Albion.
The Stark’s Park gaffer already had concerns about midfielder Stephen Simmons, full-back Willie Dyer and striker John Baird following Tuesday night’s defeat at the hands of Dundee.
Now, there is a question mark over another first-team regular.
McGlynn revealed, “Mark Campbell has been added to the list of doubtful players for the game against Stirling.
“He has picked up a hamstring strain which is related to a long-standing back problem.
“The physio has not had a chance to assess him or the other injured players since Tuesday so we will just have to wait and see.”
McGlynn will definitely be without former skipper Iain Davidson, who is suspended.
However, the Raith manager stressed that even if all of the players on the injured list do not recover in time, he will not be trying to freshen up his squad with loan deals.
He has gone down that route in the past to great effect but he said, “No, we are not looking to bring players in on loan. We do not have the money to do it even if we wanted to.
“Also, the boys have been doing really well and we have the depth of squad to continue doing so.”
