Forfar boss Dick Campbell upbeat despite duo’s departure

Forfar boss Dick Campbell admits he is really excited about the season ahead despite losing two of his most important players from the last campaign.
The manager had hoped that veteran defender Darren Dods would stay at Station Park for another year however, the 40-year-old found the lure of becoming boss at Angus rivals Brechin too strong to turn down.
The former Hibs, St Johnstone and Dundee United centre-half was appointed manager at the Glebe earlier this week and Campbell revealed that Omar Kader is also leaving Forfar with the player set to join Championship outfit Alloa.
Campbell said: “I am disappointed that Omar will not be coming back next season.
“He was a good player for us but he has decided to move elsewhere.
“Darren Dods goes with my blessing. I had hoped he would stay with us but Brechin are a great club and I wish him every success apart from when they play us.
“Despite the departure of those two, I am really pleased with how the squad is shaping up.
“We have 20 signed and I have lots of other enquiries ongoing.
“I honestly feel we will be even better next season than we were in the campaign just ended and I can’t wait to get back into it.”
