Will Scottish football ever welcome plastic as fantastic?
That’s the question Jim Spence explores in his Saturday column in The Courier.
Jim says the plastic (although he prefers the term ‘synthetic’) pitches of today are a far cry from the surfaces of yesteryear which were “slippier than the linoleum at your old auntie’s neerday party”.
Spencey reckons the “luddites” holding back wider adoption will soon be defeated by those who see the real benefits synthetic can bring both financial and in rewarding more skilful players.
