Dundee’s two senior football clubs are to have the same shirt sponsor for the first time.

Dundee United and Dundee will both have the name of solicitors and estate agents McEwan Fraser Legal on their strips from the start of next season.

They will also be joined in the kit deal by Inverness Caley Thistle, meaning McEwan Fraser Legal is backing an unprecedented three Scottish clubs.

Dark Blues managing director John Nelms said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Dundee Football Club and we look forward to starting this partnership with McEwan Fraser Legal from next season.”

Over at Tannadice, Paul Reid, head of commercial sales, said: “Dundee United are delighted to have McEwan Fraser Legal as our main club sponsor for seasons 2016-17, 2017-18 and hopefully beyond. We look forward to working closely with the company, helping build a long and successful partnership.”

The sponsors are particularly pleased to have scored a Dundee double.

Ken McEwan, chief executive of McEwan Fraser Legal, said: “It is the first time the Tayside clubs have shared the same sponsor and we are delighted to become partners with both clubs.

“At the same time, we are extremely pleased to confirm McEwan Fraser Legal has also signed a deal to become the new main club sponsors with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

“These clubs have been carefully chosen to enhance and grow our business in these regions as well as the recognition of supporting the local community in these areas.

“We were thrilled at the reaction our proposal received from the directors at Dens Park and Tannadice, especially at a time when our business interests are developing at such a rapid rate in the city.”
