Dundee’s deadline day loan signing David Morgan will be on the bench for Friday’s crucial match against Ross County.

Manager Barry Smith opted not to list the Nottingham Forest midfielder in his substitutes for the Scottish Cup tie against Morton on Sunday, but he now feels the time is right.

He explained: “I was obviously tempted to include him at the weekend because he comes with good pedigree.

“But in the Scottish Cup you only get four outfield players so we decided against it. But he’ll be involved on Friday.”

Meanwhile, Davide Grassi is expected to return to training next week.

The Scottish Cup quarter-final Dundee derby at Dens Park will take place on Sunday March 3.

The match will be televised live on Sky Sports with a 12.45pm kick-off.
