Beat Dundee and Ross County are nearly in the top six

Ross County will be just a point away from making the top six if they beat Dundee tomorrow, according to their captain Andrew Davies.

County are sixth in the Premiership table, three points ahead of both the Dark Blues and Partick Thistle, who they face in their next two fixtures, although both teams have a game in hand on the Dingwall club.

Defender Davies knows County have the advantage on their rivals, and has called for his side to play without fear of being overtaken as they aim to follow up the League Cup win with a top-half finish.

Davies said: “The next two games are big. We want to finish in the top six, which has been our aim all season. Going away to Dundee at the weekend is not going to be easy, but we believe we can go there and get a result. If we do then it puts us in a good position, a position where we want to be, but we have to be proud of what we have achieved this year.

“We have been in the top six all season and won the League Cup. I don’t think there should be too much pressure on us in the next two games because it’s been a very good season. We have to keep focused and stay in the top six.

“We have had some ups and downs this season, but we have rallied well. It hasn’t been easy and we have picked up some injuries to important players along the way, but everyone has pulled together and those who have come in have done well. Full credit to them. The next two games are massive and no more bigger than Saturday.

“Dundee have some tough games coming up. I think four points would probably see us finish in the top six. We will go all out against them to try to get that win no matter what. Fingers crossed that will be the case.”
