Rangers linked with move for Dundee ace Greg Stewart

Rangers are lining up a New Year swoop for Dundee star Greg Stewart.
The Championship front-runners have targeted the highly-rated 25-year-old striker as they eye a dream return to the Scottish top-flight.
Boss Mark Warburton is a big admirer of Stewart and the Englishman knows they’ll have to strengthen their squad for their proposed assault on the top tier next term.
Stewart, who still has 18 months of his contract left to run at Dens Park, is seen as an ideal acquisition by the Ibrox club who currently sit three points clear at the top of the Championship.
Stewart has been a revelation since joining Dundee from Cowdenbeath in the summer of 2014 and was nominated for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year award for his exploits in his first season for the Dark Blues.
The Dens Park side won’t want to lose their prize asset as they attempt to make it into the top-six for the second season running.
But the former Cowdenbeath man will be free to sign a pre-contract in just over 12 months’ time, so Dundee could decide to cash in before that should they receive a suitable offer in the January window.
