THE GARY Harkins saga has taken a dramatic turn that could see him play for Dundee against Kilmarnock, writes Ian Roache.
The Dark Blues’ pursuit of their former player has been an on-off affair but now it is very much back on.
Just last weekend, Killie boss Kenny Shiels stated categorically that Harkins would be staying at Rugby Park and therefore would be in the away dressing room for Sunday’s SPL clash at Dens Park.
However, a different take on the situation came quickly from their chairman Michael Johnston, who said it would be up to Harkins whether he went back to his old team or not.
Also, the midfielder had firstly been expected to move to Dundee on loan if at all, before signals came out that he would prefer a permanent move.
Now it appears Harkins will get his wish and sign on the dotted line to become a fully-fledged Dundee player for the second time in his career.
Boss Barry Smith did not confirm that Harkins was the player involved but word from the Killieend is that he is on his way back to Dundee on a permanent contract.
