Dundee United have appointed Gavin Beith as the new head coach of the Dundee United Women’s Team.

The Tannadice club say they plan to field a team in next season’s SWFL, and Beith will be tasked with building a squad that can compete with the best the women’s game north of the border has to offer.

The 34-year-old, who is a player and coach development manager at the SFA, brings with him a wealth of experience including a UEFA B Licence qualification and Scottish FA Advanced Youth Licence.

And he’s encouraged females who have played football in the past but have been lost to the game and those who would like to play for Dundee United to get in touch.

“This is an opportunity for those that have played the game previously to get back involved,” he said. “We want the players to develop their skills and ability under my guidance and take Dundee United to a standing within Scottish women’s football that will make us proud.”

Trials will be held at the GA Arena outside Tannadice on Wednesday June 17 and Wednesday June 24 at 6.30pm.
