Raith Rovers now have three players recovering from surgery after Kevin Cuthbert and Craig Hill joined Dougie Hill in going under the knife.

Goalkeeper Cuthbert suffered a shoulder injury ahead of the recent win at Cowdenbeath and underwent a surgical procedure on Friday to fix a severely inflamed tendon.

The summer signing from Hamilton Accies has to wear a protective sling for the next four weeks and has been ruled out until December.

Defender Barr undertook pre-season training but has not featured in any games due to a small piece of bone that has become lodged in his knee.

Barr travelled to Yorkshire last Thursday to have that cleaned up and is now expected to make his Kirkcaldy debut just before the end of the year.

The Stark’s Park side hope to have Hill back in action next month after his groin injury was operated on a fortnight ago.

Manager Grant Murray said: “You expect injuries throughout a season. However, to have three players missing through surgery is quite extreme.

“They are all now on the road back so we will get stronger over the coming months.”

Striker Christian Nade is also out at the moment due to a hamstring problem but Murray expects him back soon, with the visit to Alloa this weekend a possibility.
