Raith Rovers have today secured a deal to bring former striker John Baird back to Stark’s Park.
The 28-year-old is beginning his second spell with the Kirkcaldy club, having made over 70 appearances in the space of two seasons with Raith, and will be available to face Fife derby rivals Cowdenbeath on Saturday.
Baird was released earlier this week by Premiership side Partick Thistle and Raith boss Grant Murray has moved swiftly to secure the striker’s signature in the face of stiff competition from other Championship sides.
Rovers’ new signing initially left Stark’s Park in the summer of 2012 to sign for Dundee, but the forward struggled to find his goalscoring form at Dens Park and moved to Partick after just one season with Dark Blues.
