Cowdenbeath boss Colin Cameron pulled no punches after witnessing his side being torn apart by Livingston.

The Blue Brazil boss was reeling from the loss of five soft goals and apologised to the supporters who made the journey to West Lothian.

Cameron, who also admitted the margin of defeat could have been greater, said: “It’s a sore one to say the least.

“This is probably the most disappointed I’ve been since I’ve been in charge at the club. From start to finish we weren’t good enough.

“We never passed the ball in the way that we can and although we kept our shape the goals we lost were terrible.”

Yet it started well enough for the visitors when Nathaniel Wedderburn seized on a mistake by Simon Mensing and released Kane Hemmings who raced clear to score.

However, young defender Callum Fordyce, who went on to score a hat-trick of headers, drew Livi level just before the break from Martin Scott’s corner.

The 21-year-old repeated the dose on the restart this time from Stefan Scougall’s delivery.

Andy Barrowman made the points safe when he arrived at the far post to convert another Scott cross before Mark Burchill netted his first goal for the club with a clever finish.

However, Fordyce had the final say with his third unstoppable header from yet another Scott cross.

Scott twice hit woodwork in stoppage time as Cowdenbeath caved-in at the death.

Cameron added: “The one thing I will say is that it’s very unlike the players to perform as poorly.

“There seemed to be an acceptance once we went behind that the game had passed us and that’s not like them. Instead of being professional and trying to do the right things we lost our discipline.

“I’m hurting, the chairman is hurting and I can only apologise to the supporters who came today for our performance. They know it’s very unlike us.”

Livingston boss John McGlynn said: “Once we got ahead they had to come out and we were able to exploit the space.”
