Hamilton v Cowdenbeath: Selection headache delights Colin Cameron

Cowdenbeath boss Colin Cameron admits he has been given a selection headache ahead of the trip to high-flying Hamilton but he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Cameron believes he has assembled the strongest squad he’s had during his tenure at Central Park and was given further food for thought at the weekend when sub Greg Stewart came off the bench to score the winner against Falkirk.

The striker hopes to have forced his way into Cameron’s plans for the Hamilton game and the player/boss is delighted to have some difficult decisions to make.

“That’s what I’ve been looking for and I’ve tried to build a squad that’s not just about the starting 11,” he said.

“You want lads who maybe have not been getting stripped who can perhaps come in at any time and not weaken the team.

“I certainly feel I’ve got that now and I’m able to change the shape of the team in a way that I’m happy with, if I need to.

“We definitely needed to strengthen in the summer and the chairman and his directors have given me the opportunity to bring in players of the quality we need to achieve our aims this season.”

Midfielder Jamie Stevenson has come through training unscathed this week and should be available to make his return.

“He trained on Tuesday and I haven’t had anything to say that he’s had any reaction from it, so fingers crossed I’ll have a full squad to choose from,” said Cameron.
