Raith Rovers boss Grant Murray says a solitary defeat over 90 minutes so far this season is something the players should take great pride in.
The Kirkcaldy club kept their steady start to the campaign going on Saturday with a 1-1 draw at home to Falkirk and have only been beaten once in the league by Hamilton on the opening day so far this term.
Indeed, Hearts needed penalty kicks in the League Cup to inflict Rovers’ only other loss of the season, and Murray reckons being unbeaten in 10 of their 12 competitive fixtures thus far is something his players can look to for further inspiration.
“I do think the players have got to take a lot of pride from that,” said the Raith boss. “It’s a big thing and we want to continue that kind of form.
“I think you’ve got to use our record to our advantage and go into games with a belief and a confidence that we are capable of winning games and keeping the back door shut.”
Next is an away game to the Sons, who will have been boosted by their surprise 2-1 win at Queen of the South last week.
Rovers first team coach, defender and new dad Laurie Ellis will almost certainly be unavailable for the trip to Dumbarton, as he is struggling with a calf knock.
Murray will, however, have the rest of his squad to choose from.
He said: “The boys feel as if they played well Saturday past there, they were just disappointed to lose a late goal.
“They’ve been 1-0 up for a long, long period and to go and lose a goal with no time to recover is a hard one to take but you’ve got to take it on the chin and bounce back.”
