Lichties boss Moore seals loan move for McGeever

Arbroath boss Allan Moore has bolstered his injury-ravaged squad with the addition of Falkirk’s Ryan McGeever on loan.

The 20-year-old defender had a spell towards the end of last season with the Red Lichties, making five appearances in total.

He now returns to Gayfield and goes straight into Moore’s squad for Saturday’s crunch League Two top-of the-table clash with Albion Rovers.

Moore is also looking to add further reinforcements with Scott McBride, Jordan Lowdon, Kevin Nicoll and Ricky Little all struggling with injury while Craig Johnstone has been unwell.

The manager said: “I am delighted to bring Ryan on board. I have spoken to (Falkirk boss) Peter Houston about him and he thinks he will do a great job for us.

“He is big, strong and aggressive.

“I am also hoping to bring in a player from Hamilton and I am still working on that.

“I was always looking to add to the squad in January to freshen things up but we are really short at the moment with only eight players fit enough to train on Monday night.

“However, we will not bring lads in just for the sake of it they have to be as good or better than what we have already.”
