New Dunfermline midfielder looking to impress

New Dunfermline midfielder Scott Robinson plans to use the remainder of the season to show Pars manager Allan Johnston he deserves a deal for their return to the Championship.

The former Hearts playmaker joined on amateur terms last week after negotiating his release from Kilmarnock in February.

With four games left, the 24-year-old does not have a lot of time to impress but he is desperate to make the most of his chance at the newly-crowned League One champions.

Robinson, who is hoping to feature in today’s visit of Forfar, said: “It’s great to be in at Dunfermline.

“There’s a great atmosphere around the place just now after winning the league.

“I’m just in trying to get myself some games between now and the end of the season and hopefully I can try and win myself a permeant deal here.”

Johnston has hinted that Robinson will play some part against the Loons as he bids to have a look at some fringe players in their remaining matches.

The manager, who signed Sean Murdoch and Ryan Williamson on new two-year deals on Thursday and also handed a 12-month contract to young goalkeeper Cammy Gill, said: “It’s good to freshen things up.

“It is a good chance to give some others a chance, go and play and express themselves without a lot of pressure. Hopefully they will put on a good performance.

“We’ll still have a lot of supporters coming to the games and they want to see us winning.

“We’ve got to take that momentum into the following season, it’s important we keep the wins coming and maintain our performances.”
