Arbroath swoop for former Dundee striker Jamie Reid

Arbroath boss Todd Lumsden reckons that his Gayfield side will be an exciting outfit next season after securing the services of Dundee attacker Jamie Reid on a one-year deal.

The 21 year old, who scored for the Dark Blues on his debut back in 2012 in a 1-0 win over Livingston, spent last season on loan at Stenhousemuir and then Elgin City.

Lumsden said: “I am really pleased to get Jamie in. I am sure that having both Jamie and Bobby taking the game to the opposition will make Arbroath a very exciting side.”

Brechin manager Ray McKinnon has re-signed three of last season’s squad that took City men into the League One promotion play-offs.

Defenders Paul McLean and Darren McCormack have signed on, with striker Andy Jackson also committing himself to a fourth season at the Glebe Park.

Montrose play-off hero Garry Wood has told the club that he is leaving them just a few days after his wonder goal helped keep the Gable Endies in senior football.

The striker slammed a 30-yard shot home against Brora Rangers at the weekend to see off the Highland League champions 3-2 on aggregate.

However, he has opted to leave Links Park for nthe Highland League.

Wood said: “It was good to be able to leave on such a high.”
