St Johnstone boss won’t let O’Halloran go ‘without a fight’

Tommy Wright won’t let Michael O’Halloran go “without a fight”, St Johnstone midfielder Liam Craig insisted.
A bid from Rangers for the forward is expected but, with a League Cup semi-final looming and Saints sitting in a strong position in the league, the Perth players are hoping that O’Halloran stays where he is.
“If a bid comes in for Mikey it will be up to the club,” Craig said.
“You can see what he brings to us with his pace and running with the ball.
“He’s a good lad as well, so we want to keep a hold of him.
“Mikey loves playing football, we see that every day, and with the kind of squad we’ve got the boys will be keeping on top of him.
“So there’s nothing to worry about with the speculation.
“He’s been getting hammered about it already and hopefully he’ll still be getting it at the end of the month when he’s still here.
“But the manager is shrewd, he won’t let him go without a fight or without someone to fill the void if he does go.
“We have Craig Thomson coming through who has done really well and he’s stepping up.”
