St Johnstone sign former Aldershot Town teenager Dwayne Coultress

St Johnstone have signed a young English midfielder.
Dwayne Coultress (18) parted company with League Two club Aldershot Town in January and has been snapped up by the Perth club until the end of the season.
But Saints boss Steve Lomas stressed to The Courier last night that Coultress hasn’t been recruited to bolster the first-team squad and will be part of Alastair Stevenson’s under-20 set-up.
Three other mid-season signings from down south Michael Doughty, Marcus Maddison and Gwion Edwards all got a run-out in yesterday’s under-20 match against Celtic.
They and Mehdi Abeid have all made a good impression on Lomas.
He said: “They have added to the competition for places here. Last season we had a number of players injured and suspended for the split games and were down to the bare bones.
“These lads have increased competition and ensured we are well covered should we be hit again with unavailability.
“They have also brought a freshness to the squad and I’m happy with what they are giving.”
