ST JOHNSTONE boss Steve Lomas is contemplating extending Liam Caddis’ loan to Cowdenbeath through to the end of the season.

The Perth boss is keen for the young midfielder to continue his career progression in a similar fashion to fellow McDiarmid Park youth product Stevie May.

Caddis was farmed out to Second Division Arbroath last season and went to Central Park on an emergency one-month deal in December.

He scored on his Blue Brazil debut against Morton.

Lomas explained: “Stevie is getting regular first-team football with Accies, and he’s been scoring goals. It is all good for his development and his confidence.

“Stevie went on loan last year to Alloa and now he’s playing First Division football. He is developing as a player and advancing his football education.

“Liam would also benefit from getting games every week rather than featuring from the bench here and there in the SPL over the next few months.

“We have to see how we are placed for cover towards the end of the transfer window. But we also have to think of what is best for Liam’s development.”
