Four Courier Country riders have achieved Scottish team selection and will represent the country for Pony Club Mounted Games.
Hundreds of riders from across Scotland vie for a place on the national team each year.
Only the top riders from across the country progress to team selection trials.
These are held at Bishopbriggs, outside Glasgow.
As one of only a handful to achieve selection, Angus Pony Club member Louise Hill joins Strathearn’s Sophie Targell-Worth and West Perthshire’s Murren Addison as part of the Scotland squad at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, which takes place in May.
In gaining their Scottish flags, the trio will ride alongside Katie Deas of Lanark Pony Club and Neve Donoghue from Eglinton Hunt.
A further West Perthshire rider, Tara Brisbane, takes the position of team reserve.
In the spotlight: Louise Hill
Louise, 13, from Muirlands Farm, Lunanhead, Forfar, has been riding since the age of three.
She competed in her first Pony Club Mounted Games competition in 2006, at the age of six, on her Shetland pony Patch.
The pinnacle of Louise’s mounted games career, to date, came in 2012 when the Angus PC senior games team qualified for the Horse of the Year Show at Birmingham.
It had been more than 30 years since an Angus team had qualified for this competition, and they finished in third place overall.
Her Games trainer, Andrew Reid, has provided great encouragement. He competed in Mounted Games and was part of the team in 1968 to win the Prince Philip Cup.
Louise and her pony Foxy are looking forward to the Royal Windsor Horse Show and have been travelling to Ayr each week to practice with her Scottish team mates.
“Louise has a wee fan club travelling down to Windsor to cheer her on, and it will be an exciting time for us all,” said Angus PC secretary Fiona Anderson.
