iTunes chart success for Montrose band If All Else Fails

If All Else Fails have released the single in aid of Crohn's and Colitis UK.
An Angus band’s new single, in aid of Crohn’s and Colitis UK, has stormed into the iTunes metal chart.
Laurencekirk-based Lewis Paton, 31, who plays bass with Montrose band If All Else Fails, suffers from Crohn’s disease, a form of inflammatory bowel disease.
Lewis’s condition deteriorated in September and he was admitted to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for major surgery before being released early this year.
During Lewis’s time in hospital, the rest of the band wrote a heartfelt song, called For You, Brother, which was inspired by his determination to recover.
Promoted entirely through social media, sales of the single rocketed from the moment of release on Friday, and within 24 hours the song had crashed into the iTunes metal chart, peaking at number two.
Drummer Jamie Kinghorn said: “By selling our T-shirts for the CCUK charity and taking donations at gigs, we have raised around £700 already.
“While it will take a few weeks for the sales of For You, Brother to come through, we are confident of ending up with a four-figure sum.”
