Glenrothes shooting: man due in court on murder charge
ByNews reporter
Police in Fife have confirmed that a 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of businessman Toby Siddique.
The man, who has not been named, is expected to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Tuesday charged with Mr Siddique’s murder — more than a week after the father-of-three was shot dead at a house in Forres Drive, Glenrothes.
The man, believed to be from eastern Europe originally, has also been charged with the attempted murder of Davie Dalgleish, who Mr Siddique was visiting on the night of Sunday, October 24.
Officers from Fife, working in co-operation with counterparts from Lothian and Borders, are understood to have arrested the man at an address in Livingston at around lunchtime on Monday.
Mr Siddique (38), whose name was Mohammed Nadeem Siddique but who was better known locally as Toby, died from a single gunshot wound in last week’s incident, while Mr Dalgleish was wounded and later released from hospital.
He has since been helping police with their inquiries from a secret location.
More than 50 officers alone have been dedicated to the investigation.
