Trio including brother found guilty of murdering Toby Siddique

Three men including the victim’s brother have today been found guilty of the murder of a Fife businessman.

Tencho Andonov (28) was convicted at Edinburgh High Court of shooting Mohammed Nadeem Siddique known as Toby and the attempted murder of David Dalgleish in Glenrothes on October 24 2010.

Toby’s brother Mohammed Azam Siddique (42) and Deyan Nikolov (27) were also found guilty of his murder.

The court had heard Andonov was the “hit man” and Nikolov the “fixer” in a murder plot led by property developer Mohammed Azam Siddique in a dispute over a business deal.

Following the verdict, David Green, the area procurator fiscal for Fife, described the murder as a “despicable crime” and one “motivated by greed”.

Fife Police have also welcomed the jury’s decision, saying the convictions bring to an end the largest and most complex investigation in the force’s 62-year history.

Detective Superintendent Colin Beattie, who was in charge of the case, said that at one stage around 80 of the force’s 1,400 staff were involved in an investigation which cost the force over £1.4 million.For extensive coverage and reaction to the verdict see Thursday’s Courier
